Since Easter is approaching I thought it would be appropriate to write a quick blurp about a wonderful bible study group I have been involved with for the past year. It is a completely 100% online group which is perfect for us mamas (or fellow daddy readers) to get involved with reading God’s word in a ‘group’ setting while still at home taking care of the sweet littles. This group is called Good Morning Girls and primarily has women of all ages however I have seen some men participate. It really is just a great tool for scripture discussing and soaking it up.
–I strongly encourage group bible studies whether it is in person or online because of Matthew 18:20
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.“
There is just something powerful about groups! Groups are influential. They can even change a calloused hearts way of thinking!
But with all that aside, it really is just a good time of year to really dig into the bible. It’s important to understand why Jesus died for us and the process that took place. The Good Morning Girls group is currently working through the book of Mark which has the account of Jesus’ death and resurrection.
If you want to check out the group you can find it on facebook titled Good Morning Girls, you can follow their Instagram page, or you can just google it. The Good Morning Girls is through a blog called Women Living Well which I highly recommend you check out. She has great tips on bible studying and even has her own method of color coding!
I tend to enjoy things more when they are in a group setting whether it’s exercise, crafts, homework, or a bible study but because I have a responsibility to my child it is sometimes very hard to get out to do these things so it’s great that these women have provided an online resource.
Besides the Good Morning Girls, I have been studying solo in the book of Proverbs and I came across a verse that really spoke to me.
Proverbs 15:13 “A happy heart makes the face cheerful”
This verse seems minor compared to many others mentioned in the book of Proverbs but I honestly just LOVE it.
I want to be the woman who displays on her face how beautiful and happy her heart is.
When I say this I mean that I want my face to radiant the joy in my life. I want my demeanor to shine with love, hope, and excitement and most importantly I want my family to notice and begin to pick up on it.
Just as yawns are contagious, so are smiles.
So, before I end I want to share a little prayer that has helped me with this task because believe me, it’s harder than it sounds!
Lord, I ask that you will give me the strength of smiles and joy that will be contagious to my children and to my husband.
I pray that I’ll wake up every morning (well at least the majority of my mornings) with a smile on my face, counting my continuous blessings and start my families day off on the right side of the bed.
I pray that my joy will envelope our home throughout the day, creating a welcoming place for my family, friends, and even strangers.
Lord, I also pray that my joy will still be radiating on my face as I welcome my husband home from work. At the end of the day my strength is dwindling but with Your strength I can persevere. Help me to be a positive light that will bring a smile to my husbands face after a stressful day at work.
