Creative Christmas Advent Calendar Ideas and Resources

Creative DIY Advent Calendars and Advent Resources for the Christmas Season

Yes, I know for some of you ladies the idea of already preparing for Christmas seems somewhat ridiculous. But, I am a planner of sorts (a very terrible one) and am aware of how fast these next couple of weeks are going to fly by! From this post date we have exactly ONE week until Thanksgiving and exactly two weeks until December 1st. I know I know, let’s celebrate Thanksgiving before we have to prepare for another celebration but considering advent usually starts on the first Sunday in December that means you’ll have 9 days to gather your advent activities/books/gifts.

So let’s take some of that time pressing stress off your shoulders by daring to think about Christmas a little earlier than we’d like.

Below I have listed 11 fun advent calendar ideas that you can make yourself with minimal recourses. Under that I also listed a couple advent resources the entire family can enjoy and resources to help prepare your own heart during this busy season. The most important part we must remember is why we are truly celebrating this season — it’s not about the glamorous gifts and decorations. I believe celebrating advent is a great way to cultivate an entire family’s heart to better appreciate the birth of our Savior.

P.S. You don’t need the advent gifts to make it special; the countdown itself is a fun and exciting activity for the children!

Here’s 11 advent calendar ideas that you can make at home!
