Be Still in a World Full of Fear

Be still in a world full of fear

Learning to be still and lean on God when fear overtakes us

Be still.

This world is full of hate and judgement.

Be still.

This world is full of anger and fear of the unknown.

Be still.

As shootings of innocent people and loved ones come to pass.

Be still.

Be still in a world full of fear

Wow, what a world.

A world so full of evil, anger, fear, resentment, judgement, persecution, and death. A world that seems to be housing some very bad men right now and we just happen to be their next door neighbor.

Fear is trickling into the hearts of the innocent. Fear is penetrating the strong. What can we do when fear seems to be taking over?

Be still and know.

God is mighty and powerful! God is a victor in all things! God delivers and he conquerors!

Fear is for those who do not know just how powerful our God is. Don’t let that fear destroy who God called you to be! It’s alright to be scared but it’s not alright to let that fear act as a road block in your success.

Be still and know.

God sees what is happening in our world. He sees the sin prowling over us like a wolf in a herd of sheep. If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

This is not the time for fear. This is the time to be still and know that God has us under his wing. We need to be still and breathe; knowing that “God is mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea– the LORD on high is mighty”. Psalm 93:4

If we are constantly running around in fear, how is our soul ever going to be quiet enough to hear God’s still small voice?

This fear is dividing us! The fear and difference of opinions is dividing our nation in two. Remember, a house divided against itself cannot stand. We cannot stand as one nation if we are divided; it’s just not possible. Fear is what causes us to act on rash decisions. It makes us believe that we don’t have time for problem solving or consider other people when boiling down to a decision.

When we are afraid, there’s no way we can be still.

So, instead of continuing to grow angry and fearful of our nation; let’s unite as a family of believers and help our world. After all, being a helper and servant of God is what we are called to do!

We need to spread love in the hearts of our country once more to overcome that blinding fear which has tried to make it’s home.

Send love and help to the loved ones that were affected by the shooting in Texas last night. Send love and help to the loved ones that were affected by the shooting in Florida.  This is no longer a “let someone else do it” situation, we need to stand up and help those in need.

Be still and listen to what God has called us to be and do.

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

  1. this is so timely and just what I needed to hear today, Tenesha! thank you for these words that God placed on your heart and you’ve written for all of us to see. Yes, the world is a scary place right now and bad things are happening – but we know who wins in the end, right? It is hard to stay positive and not get into a battle of words on twitter and fb and so many other places where people feel safe to write horrible things. I have a brother in law who is a police officer and he is the nicest guy in the world and would give you the shirt off his back if he could. I just don’t understand this world right now, but I do know that God understands. And He sees what is happening and you are right. It is time for us to step up and reach out and heal this country with His love. We can be His hands and feet.

thanks again for sharing your gift of words – I love reading your blog!

    • Thank you Christy for sharing. I always love reading what you have to say — so beautifully heartfelt and transparent. My husband is a fire fighter which means he knows quite a few cops and boy does this whole police officer thing appall him. Many police officers (and firefighters) are amazing people, it’s a shame that a couple bad guys have created an image of fear for them all.

I agree. I truly believe that if we united as a body believers more often — just like the Franklin Graham Decision America tour — we would see a change. Maybe not the whole world, but we would at least see the fear begin to dwindle in the Christian community. We’d see a body of believers encouraging each other with the truth that God is in control.
So ya, thanks again for your comment. I’m sorry it took me so long to reply!
